λ Phage Displays Service

Creative BioMart is a well-known expert specializing in the application of advanced phage display technology to accelerate the release of protein engineering. With years of experience, we are able to provide λ phage display system service based on phage display technology to precisely meet customer requirements.

Lambda bacteriophage is a mild bacteriophage of the long-tailed bacteriophage family. It has an icosahedral head with a diameter of 55 nm and a slender tail at the end. It is characterized by a linear double-stranded DNA molecule with a genome of 48.5 kb. Lambda phage does not need to secrete foreign peptides or proteins outside the bacterial cell membrane, and can display active macromolecular proteins (proteins above 100 kDa) and proteins that are toxic to host cells in host cells. The head of lambda phage is composed of D protein and V protein, and a display system of D protein and V protein can be constructed. Based on the λ phage display technology, Creative BioMart provides the following system services:

PD display system services

Protein D is involved in the assembly of wild-type lambda phage heads. When the mutant phage genome is less than 82% of the wild-type genome, the assembly can be completed in the absence of protein D.

The advantage of the Protein D system we provide is that the ratio of fusion protein to D protein on the phage can be controlled by the host's inhibitory tRNA activity, which is particularly useful for displaying proteins that can cause damage to phage assembly.

The Protein D system we provide can be used as a vector for fusion of foreign sequences.

PV display system services

Protein V of lambda phage constitutes the tubular part of its tail. Protein V has two folding regions, and the C-terminal folding domain can be inserted or replaced by foreign sequences.

The advantage of the Protein V system we provide is that the assembly of lambda phage is carried out in the cell, so it can display peptides or proteins that are difficult to secrete.

  • As a vaccine delivery vector, λ phage vectors provide a powerful alternative to traditional viral and non-viral systems.
  • λ phage provide powerful potential as gene transfer vectors, especially because their coat protein can protect DNA cargo from being degraded during delivery.
  • Biological detection and control: λ phage-based detection strategies are generally faster than many antiserum/antibody methods and usually provide results within a few days, while traditional methods require months.
